Open Question: U.S. Cellular 2 Year Contract Question?
I currently have U.S. Cellular as my cell phone carrier. My two year contract is up and I can upgrade my phone anytime. I would like to go tomorrow and buy a new phone but needed to ask a question on Yahoo Answers first. If I do not like the phone I get can I revert back to my old phone and get of the contract for free within the first 30 days or am I basically stuck with the contract? Thanks in advance. Also I do not want to switch carriers so please, do not leave your opinions of other carriers or U.S. Cellular. Thanks again.

Voting Question: How can all the cell companies get away with price gouging customers for replacement phones? R they sadist?
It’s pretty frustrating to have a 2 yr contract on a cell phone, and then the phone turns out to be a piece of garbage that you haven’t insured because you only paid $30 for it. Then try and buy a GOOD phone without an upgrade option and you’re literally SCREW–! The phone I want is $49.99 at Walmart with a NEW two year contract, and if I were eligible for an upgrade, maybe $100. To purchase it outright (non-committment) would be $249 to $299. Now wouldn’t it make sense for the company I am with to at least offer me the upgrade price and extend my contract right now for 1-2 years to ensure my continued business, rather than to risk losing me in a few months to 1 year? I know they are so profitable and controlling they could care less about little ole me with my $30 phone, but what REALLY is their PROBlem? I kept my little $30 phone, ordered a charger for $1 onlilne and a battery and car charger for under $7.00. Guess I will chintz them right back for at least another year. If everybody would do that, maybe they’d be nicer to their existing customers. My first cell was through Quest, who gave up their service in my area. I had one wonderful phone and great service with them for about 4 years. I was in cell phone heaven. I haven’t been thrilled with cellular life since having to give up my first phone (Sanyo 8200) and I won’t pay over $100 for the Rugby I think I want–it’s not as good as that Sanyo was, except it has the GPS. I don’t want to have to carry an expensive plan.

Voting Question: Can I buy a phone and add onto my grandparent’s service contract, and just buy a texting plan for myself?
My mother is a control freak and believes cell phones are a waste of money, so she won’t pay for cell phones for our family…though as I’m going away to college, a phone is pretty much a necessity. My grandparents have US Cellular, so I was wondering if I can buy one of their phones and add onto my grandparent’s service, and if I would still get the rebate for that phone. Thanks.
and if you have an idea for what phone I should get from us cellular, let me know :)
