Open Question: I want my dad to get me a blackberry?
So I really want a blackberry so I can have unlimited texting and go on facebook and stuff to keep in touch with my friends. I’m tired of having a week of texting then waiting like a month because that’s all my mom can afford. I’m going to ask my dad to get me a blackberry but first I need some good arguments. I know I can get unlimited texting and stuff with other phones but I really want a blackberry. I would pay for it myself but I’m only 14 so the best job I can get is pet-sitting the neighbour’s cats which is fun but they only pay me $10 a day and don’t need me that often. So I’ve looked up phone plans, found a good one that’s only $30 a month and I have one maybe two or three arguments for my dad to get me one: 1. For emergencies. If I need to contact him or he needs to contact my family, my mom barely uses or knows how to use her cell phone, my brother doesn’t want one because he thinks the government can track him down (wtf? don’t ask…) so I’m the best he’s got. 2. I can keep in touch with him better so he knows more about what’s going on in my life (I also want him to get facebook for that but that’s a question for another day) and 3. It’s easier for me to keep in touch with my friends. Can you help me come up with more reasons so I can convince him? Thank you!
My dad doesn’t live with us. I only see him every other Sunday so chores aren’t really something I can do
1. It’s because of the money
2. I already have a cell phone but it has a really bad plan
3. That could work
4. I already have a job pet-sitting (seriously, no offence or anything but did you not read it?)
5. I don’t have an allowance or any steady income…like I said before the pet-sitting job doesn’t require me on a regular basis, only when they go on vacation

my android phone is Samsung galaxy, SGH-I 897.
my problem is that i dont have wifi in my home, so i want to download n install new apps for my cell.. which right now i cant do bcs of the restriction of android market being used only through wifi. i have the normal cable net. so is there any possibility by using some samsung phone softwares (like nokia has its pc suite through which symbian apps r installed) i would b able to download n then install apps on my cell using data cable.

Open Question: I got text messages from boyfriend’s ex?
so my boyfriend and i have been dating for 10 months and a few months ago, his EX sent me a friend request on facebook and i accepted it cuz HE has her on his friends list and I didn’t want to seem rude so I accepted it. And recently I got a text message to my phone from an unknown number(it looked like one of those free texting numbers you would use to text from an ipod) and it was HER and she said, “Hey this is (ex girlfriend’s name) and I just want to let you know that your so called-boyfriend and I have been talking to each other and getting close to each other.” I told her I didn’t believe her and she sent me more mean messages calling me a bitch and saying that my boyfriend belongs to HER.

So I confronted my boyfriend and asked him if any of this was true and he said no. He told me that they both text each other often but only as friends. I gave him the unknown number where I got those texts from and he said that wasn’t her cell phone number cuz it was something different and he showed me a different number. So I concluded that the unknown number was probably from one of those free texting numbers that you use to text from an ipod. But he said that was impossible, that someone else was probably just playing a prank on me and that it couldn’t be her because SHE and HIM go back a long way. He said he’s known her for years and that she wouldn’t do anything like that.

So he texted her REAL cellphone number and asked her if she had been texting me and she said no . I sent her a message on facebook shortly after and asked, “hey were you the one texting me earlier?” and she said, “i don’t even look at your profile and i don’t really know you, so no.”

After all this I felt very confused. I REALLY think it was my boyfriend’s ex who was sending me all those texts. But I don’t understand why HE would deny it and not think it would be. Do you think he’s right? Was it just someone posing as HER and playing a prank on me? Because that doesn’t seem very likely. I mean, my phone number is on my facebook profile and she CAN see everything that’s on my profile, so I think it would be HER. Does it seem like I’m right?

Open Question: how do i call someone on vacation in mexico?
Hi there. I am currently studying abroad in Germany. My parents live in California, USA so i normally call them using 001 and their regular phone number. When i make a phone call to the U.S. this is what it looks like: 001 (xxx) xxx-xxxx. However, my parents are on vacation in Mexico and I’d like to be able to call their cell phones. I’ve tried to look up the dialing code online but it only seems to work if the person you are calling lives in Mexico. So is there a way i can call them? Do i take out the 001 i use to call the U.S? I’ve already tried 00 52 (xxx) xxx-xxxx which one website recommended but it didnt work. Thanks in advance for your help!

Gibbs Argument Summary

In “Cell-Phone Second Thoughts” Nancy Gibbs argues that cell phones demolish a teen’s life through wasting time, cheating on tests, organizing fights, bulling class mates, and more commonly, sexting. She claims that when teens upload an image of themselves naked, many people get offended and that teen gets arrested for “sexual abuse of children”. Gibbs provides a research in which a fifteen year old girl was charged for that same cause. Gibbs illustrates that when teens upload their image, it will never be deleted and when that teen want to run for president or be something important, she or he can be abused by that stupid mistake made a long time ago. Lastly, the author asks for more laws regarding kids having a cell phone. Nancy Gibbs purpose is to warn parents in order to protect their children from destroying their own life. This work is significant because many teens in the twentieth century use technology in the wrong way, though at the beginning of establishing cell-phones, it was thought they will simple every-one’s life.

9-1-1 Argument Summary

Theola Labbe-DeBose argues that 9-1-1 needs improvement through hiring more operators and establishing a department for text messages. She claims that text messaging 9-1-1 might come in handy when someone needs help who can not communicate through voice. DeBose develops this claim by first illustrating a real life event in which a teenager had only one way to get help, which was to text 9-1-1, though at that time and place the police station was not “modernised enough”. Secondly, she assists her claim by providing an example in which an ex-boyfriend of a homeowner violated a restraining order and broke in, the women, Flores texted 9-1-1 and the police arrived. Unfortunately, text messaging is only available in some places, such as Iowa. Lastly, the author provides a counter, she demonstrates that establishing text messages in a police station costs a-lot of money. Theola Labbe-DeBose purpose is to inform citizens that texting 9-1-1 is another option that anyone can have. This work is important because our technology is developing every minute but our very police stations are doing the opposite.

Open Question: If you call yourself Christian, how can you support an economy based on greed?
Last I checked, greed was one of the 7 deadly sins. Yet, Republicans (who identify themselves as the “Christian” party) and many Democrats promote greed – they say we NEED it, that it creates jobs (debatable in my opinion), that it creates a GOOD society.

Does it really? Isn’t there a way to have a strong economy without so much greed? Wouldn’t we have a better, more civil society without greed??

Honestly Republicans, how can you call America a Christian nation?
7 deadly sins:
GREED (our economy is based on it)
LUST (we use sex to sell EVERYTHING)
PRIDE (many Americans are overly guilty of pride)
ANGER (one glimpse at this message board shows you the anger in the national discourse)
GLUTTONY (we have so much food, and the worst obesity problem in the world)
SLOTH (many argue that Americans have gotten lazier)
ENVY (you could argue that our envy of the resources of other countries (oil, minerals, jewels, even the materials of cell phones that come from the Congo) causes turmoil all over the world).

How many people do you know who embody the virtues that people SHOULD value??
(Humility, generosity, love, kindness, self control, temperance and zeal)
Can you honestly say that we as a nation reward these virtues?? A look at the national discourse, the entertainment industry, the economy, shows that we reward the negative virtues that have produced destruction of people and societies for centuries.

I am Punjabi and he is Pakistani boy
He is junior in college and I’m sophomore in college.
I am the only indian girl on his FB list rest are 100 boys.
He clicked like on my entire prom album not every picture but the whole album.
He gave me his number when I asked him and I gave him mine but he did not ask .
I asked him why don’t have that many girls on FB he said he does not need girls? But I said why did u add me. I said I am your friend right….he said yea. I also asked him does he like chatting with me he said yea.
We were in same class in HS but not friends. I send him a FB request.
I wished him HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Have a great one. He wrote thanks on his wall? that was the only time he commented back.
When it was Diwali. he wished me online and I said same to you…happy diwali.
So when it was EID he posted it on his status. Then I send him a message on FB. Eid mubarak and he said same to u eid mubarak.
On the first of college I saw him while I was going to my class. I waved at him and said Hi. He just smile walking down the hallway with his guy friend.
In the summer one day he saw me on fb at 3:00 am. Ask me what am I doing up? I said not sleeping yet, then he signed off
In the summer we chatted at 1 or 2 hours at 2:00am we did that twice.

I saw him with my guy friend in cafe they were buying lunch. I did not see them until my guy friend said my name.But this guy just said wat’s up to me and smiled. I said Hi and waved at him. when I was in the library I speed walk by one room I saw him with his friends. I smiled at him. He smiled back.If I comment on his wall he does not comment back or delete those comments but leaves it? I just send him a message on FB to ask him what time should I call him tmr. He said he only messages girls and not talk with them on phone. I said to him don’t be shy from me. I said I used to be shy from you lol. I feel like you don’t like me and don’t want to be my friend. Then he said no it’s not and I am not shy
2 weeks ago I was driving on the highway to go college I think he saw me driving. he was driving fast.Then I send him message on FB. lolll I saw you today…you were driving fast. Were u getting late for ur class. After that I txted him on his cell and asked him did you get my message on FB. he said yea and he replied to the message. That’s just how I drive. After 1 hr he texted me on my cell wat car was I driving? I told him toyota camry. I said don’t you drive one too. He said yea and that was you? Just be careful cause there was a cop. Then I replied back to him We’ll see eachother on highway sometimes lolll. Thanks I will cya good night.

1 week ago I send him a text at 10:45am I said Hey what’s up. He repiled back at 12:30 said going to work and you? I said I got out of psychology class so after 3 hrs I send him a text do you buy book at library or online… He replied back at the library. Then I send him a txt are you still at work. He reply back I went there for little while. I said that I saw this nice car, he replied which one. Then I txt him blue mercedes. TODAY AGAIN I SAW HIM ON HIGHWAY, HE WAS DRIVING FAST, HE CAME INFRONT OF MY CAR AND SPEED UP. Then I also speed up going behind his car.I DONT WANT ASK HIM THAT WE SHUD HANGOUT IN COLLEGE.because I did once on FB and he did not reply back. Now I don’t see him in college because he leaves at noon when his classes finishes. Why am I the only girl on his list. beside his cousin american ex-wife who is 26 yr old? he is on facebook mobile all the time and not fb chat. Open Question: What does it mean when you call another cell phone, it rings several times, then goes to an alternating beep:?
I”m calling from a verizon phone, I’m not sure what the other person has. I’m trying to reach someone for a question regarding a recently accepted job and had tried to call the number last used, which is a cell phone number I was told I could call. It rings several times, and then instead of going to a voice mail like I expected, it goes to an alternating beeping noise. It’s not a busy tone or signal. It reminds me of the sound of like a British emergency vehicle, just not as harsh of a sound. It alternates between two tones.

I’m assuming there’s either an issue the line or reception area, but am hesitant to repeatedly call it to see if it’s any different.

Just wanted some insight if anyone has any.

I said Hi and waved at him. when I was in the library I speed walk by one room I saw him with his friends. I smiled at him. He smiled back.If I comment on his wall he does not comment back or delete those comments but leaves it? I just send him a message on FB to ask him what time should I call him tmr. He said he only messages girls and not talk with them on phone. I said to him don’t be shy from me. I said I used to be shy from you lol. I feel like you don’t like me and don’t want to be my friend. Then he said no it’s not and I am not shy
1 week ago I was driving on the highway to go college I think he saw me driving. he was driving fast.But when we reached college. We parked little bit far from eachother then went to our classes. I don’t think we saw eachother? Then I send him message on FB. lolll I saw you today…you were driving fast. Were u getting late for ur class. After that I txted him on his cell and asked him did you get my message on FB. he said yea and he replied to the message. That’s just how I drive. After 1 hr he texted me on my cell wat car was I driving? I told him toyota camry. I said don’t you drive one too. He said yea and that was you? Just be careful cause there was a cop. Then I replied back to him We’ll see eachother on highway sometimes lolll. Was that stupid to say that. Thanks I will cya good night.

I said I got out of psychology class….so after 3 hrs I send him a text do you buy book at library or online… He replied back at the library. Then I send him a txt are you still at work. He reply back I went there for little while. I said that I saw this nice car, he replied which one. Then I txt him blue mercedes. he did not text me back after that. Open Question: relationship help needed?
My boyfriend of 4 years broke off our engagement because his family all a sudden has a problem with me after he proposed. They liked me before. He is the last son to leave the house and his mom is so dependent on him for everything. He does everything for her. We were only engaged for 3 months.
He has been coming back and fourth into my life.
He never actually said we were through. He has told me after he moves out of his parents “which he has lived for 38 years” He kept telling me he was going to fix it,but even if he does not fix things on his families part. Why would he leave me and Say I did nothing?
For the past year on and off he ignores me totally for weeks at a time.
Says he will call me,but never does. I started to move on without him and then he started to romance me again telling me all the things I want to hear. And then ignores me again.
He knows I cry everyday because I have no true closure. I ask him questions about our future if we have one or not. He just ignores it.
I sent him a email a few days ago saying I love him and that I’ll wait. He replays with a smiley face. God I’m so confused. He has been my friend for 11 years. We have not been intimate in over a year too. I want him but don’t want to hurt no more. Will no contact work if I try it? Thanks for listening. by the way we are both 38 I really love him and want to have him back in my life. I would even send him a picture of me to his cell phone and he never says a things anymore. This hurts so bad.

I have tried everything but he use to tell me he would come back fo rme and now when i ask he will not respond to anything from me. I gav e him everything and was there for him. and now I need him he said he can;t.

Open Question: Help me choose the right girl please?
Girl 1: i met her in school. Since the first day i met her she have been in comunication with me. She is not a cell phone text freak like my second girl. She prensented me her whole family already. I barely have problems with her and we always think the same way meaning that we take the best path for both. I only have 4 months with her.

Girl 2: i met her in school. I always tried to be her boyfriend because she is really beautiful and a good, respectful person. I now dont love her like before because we had so many problems in the past because of her family hating me and she always used to hide me from everybody as her boyfriend. I spent a year trying to make her love me as much as i used to loved her but it never work until a few months after the year. Now she loves me more than ever and even bought me some expensive stuff. We now have 1 year and 7 months.

Girl 1 lives 2 hours away from my house. Girl 2 lives half hour from my house. Girl 1 is pretty and girl 2 is interesting. Girl 1 has more experience having a boyfriend and girl 2 was raised by parents who didnt give her much freedom, so what she knows is bacause of me. I worked so hard to make girl 2 love me so much. Suddently when i achieved that goal girl 1 apears in my life with everything i wanted from girl 2 without me making any effort.

The problem is: I really dont know which one to pick. They are both good girls and i trust them. Each one has her own advantage. I walked through alot of things with girl 2 for along time and now she loves me with such intense. Girl 1 have done everything i like without me talking a lot like i did with girl 2, she came to me with perfection.

Plz serious answers, opinions or questions.

Open Question: I have found some sound clips on my husbands cell phone. A woman was singing to him?
I faced my husband with the fact that he was cheating on me. We argued a lot. I felt devastated especially that we have been in love for almost 15 years and married for 10 years. We are parents for three wonderful kids and we have gone through a lot together. We used to love each other so deeply. However, our marriage has been facing problems. He complained several times to me about his need to have more frequent sex and that he needs me to stay up late at night with him. I also have had my complaints. He never tells me sweet words anymore except on occasions. When we have sex he would feel very romantic the next day than this is lost with the daily demands of life. I wanted very much our love to be vibrant but life and the kids have done a lot to damage our love relationship. The fact that I work and teach the kids in the afternoon and cook for the next day makes me very exhausted. After discussing things with him we agreed to give our relationship a chance and that he will not go out any longer. He told me that If I can give him what he want he will not try to find it elsewhere. I have decided to make a diet and go to the gym. Every time I listen to the recording I feel bad and afraid that their relationship is far deeper than he is trying to show me and that he will continue to see this woman. Please help. I do not want to lose him for anyone in the world. I love him so much.

Open Question: Is being near all these electronics unhealthy?
ok so i have a 37in lcd tv and next to it is my ps3 that i have with wifi while using a n450 db belkin wireless router and i use a blue tooth only for the ps3 not cell phone. i feel like using all this at the same time is unhealthy should i worry? im about 10ft from the tv and whenever i get near the tv it smells like burned. I have two cell phones (that is I have two different phone numbers) and want to use the two different numbers with Kakaotalk on one of the phones. So I wonder if it’s possible to create more than one identity on the phone. I know you can do that with Skype. You can switch between identities/accounts by logging out of one account and logging into the other. I have tried with Kakaotalk to create a second account (with a different phone number) but did not have much success.

I actually created the first Kakaotalk account I ever made on my Galaxy Player (it’s not a smart phone but it sometimes has Wifi access) using the number from a cell phone (not a smart phone) I had.

Now I’ve bought a smart phone and want to use Kakaotalk on that. I want to create Kakaotalk using the number of the new phone. But I also want to keep the old Kakaotalk account as the phone number is still active (I am keeping the two phones active).

But if I can’t create two different Kakaotalk accounts on the one phone, it means that I will have to give up the old Kakaotalk account. Kakaotalk never worked well for me on the Galaxy Player as the wifi connection was usually iffy. (That’s the reason I bought a smart phone – so I could start using Kakaotalk more.)

If it’s possible to create two different accounts on the one device then I will persist in trying to do that.

Open Question: how can i properly remove eject usb flash drive in OS windows xp professional sp3?
i have a wide variety of usb devices external to my dell xps 400 dimension 8150 build that will not properly shut down in order to be able to remove the devices so that it does not create a blue screen error. for instance, one of sandisk’s usb flash drives, the old U3, cannot be safely ejected from the usb drive of my system.

microsoft tells us it has been working on this fix since june 2008. not good. maybe old bill will perform one of his charitable acts by telling us how to do this in windows xp, which ms has determined it will not support in not too far into the future. we have so many windows XP users! (it WAS the best ms operating system and probably still is). but onward:

if i choose to “safely remove hardware” down in the system tray, xp tells me that services to this [usb flash] DRIVE cannot be stopped now and to try again later. well, it’s been a journey, first trying again later by 8 hours, 12 hours, 24 and 36 hours (oops, sorry, i forgot to attach my usb stopwatch, so i can’t tell you PRECISE number of hours, boo hoo!) since i tried this and still i get the same error.

this same error has reared its ugly little blackhead when i’m trying to disengage one of my external hard drives that cost me mega bucks $$$ after windows live dropped a TH on me that took a year to fix (my entire LAN). so, i might blow up one of my backup or mirror imaging EHDs by not ejecting it properly (stopping services to it, just like i say above about the flash drive), which then means–of course–that the data that i so lovingly stored on it will be lost. i.e., it is like crashing your hard drive.

what a conundrum! it goes in circles: you buy all these usb backup devices–and other devices, for instance, an android cell phone, that store pictures, movies, and music on them–but just TRY to safely remove them when you may be using more than one (because your system’s power is great enough to do so). then you will get the dreaded BLUE SCREEN ERROR! it indicates a problem with hardware/driver updates, yet, you go to the vendor’s site and see that you have updated your device drivers already, so what to do next? send microsoft a blue screen error report. does this do any good? NO! because…

windows xp will not be supported by the PC giant, microsoft, soon. and so:

anyone out there who uses usb devices a lot running windows xp (in my case, the professional OS version) with SP3 know how to perform this wee little task in the correct manner?

Open Question: Not sure what to think?
Me and my ex have been hanging out….i used to go through his phone but stopped…we had a good night but this morning he left the room without his phone he usually never leaves it around me but he did i didn’t even notice he left it until in opened the dresser drawer and it feel it turned the light on the none on it was on text messages so i looked at it it said gm sweety from his sisters friend who said he doesn’t like…i guess i cant hide my emotions he said whats wrong i said nothing but he said that’s why i dont leave my fucking phone around you..every time im around you i get pissed off stay the fuck away from me…i started crying he said i dont care if your crying..i guess i brought this on myself its my fault but i still feel bad because i wanted to reconcile our relationship…sorry for typos on cell

Open Question: Is my signifigant other is doing this on purpose…..?
So we’ve been seeing each other for a couple of months. The only main problem is the telephone.

He uses his company phone and when he wants to talk to me he calls me from skype. When I called him on his cell he won’t pick up..he says he doesn’t want to use up the minutes…so how the F am i suppose to call him when i want to talk to him.

This weekend, we texted a bit…he wanted to see me but i wasn’t in the mood, so i called him later that night on his company cell, he didn’t pick up, i got annoyed

next day he called me 4 times. twice through skype and twice from his cell and texted me wanting to see me..i ignored his calls.

I called him back 8 hours later, purposely ignored my calls. I text him and said have a nice night, he responded and said same to you…he asked if he could see me tomorrow, i said no, i have to meet a friend for dinner.

what’s my problem, i don’t that he doesn’t pick up when i call him but expects me to pick up when he calls. so i’m giving him a taste of his own medicine.
