Open Question: why won’t my iPhone connect to the Internet?
when I try to use Safari a message comes up saying ‘unable to connect to cellular network’, I can’t use anything on my phone that uses the Internet. I’ve restarted my phone, turned 3g off and on, and checked all settings but nothing seems to work!
so sick of restoring this stupid phone if not for one reason than for another, if anyone wants to buy an iPhone I strongly suggest you don’t, they’re not worth the money, one problem after another with the pieces of s**t
Open Question: best pay as you go phone service (see details)?
I need a cheap phone I can carry with me when running, riding or working in an environment where carrying a decent phone isn’t advised (get stolen). But all of the plans require me to “Add minutes” every xxx days or I lose my minutes, $$$ and number.
I just want to pay for the days I use and not be forced to keep the account topped out minute or $$$ wise. It’s an emergency phone only and there’s no reason to have to keep adding money to the phone when I may use it a couple of times month.
Adding a line to my current cellular plan won’t work as I’m not on a family plan…
Any ideas?

I got this krzr when I was a us cellular customer 4 or 5 years ago, paid a bundle for it too. Now I’m a verizon customer and I’m wondering if I could somehow use that phone. Can anyone tell me if I can and if so how I do it?
Cellular systems have evolved in four major phases or generations. The first generation, or 1G, technology was analog and transmitted voice calls only. The second generation, or 2G, introduced digital transmissions and offered the first support for data, although the focus was still on voice calling. Second-generation phones are based on one of two standards: GSM (used by T-Mobile, AT&T, and most overseas carriers) and CDMA (used by Verizon and Sprint). In either case, average data speed on a 2G network is around 9.6 Kbps, about the same as a ’90s-era modems. The intermediate “2.5G” level is where things get a little fuzzy. In the GSM camp, a standard called GPRS, which offered better data transmission capabilities, came to be known as 2.5G. GPRS has evolved into the EDGE networks (up to 400-kbps data speeds) still used by many phones today. As for the CDMA universe, 2.5G is referred to as 1XRTT, or just 1X. In the real world, it is known as EVDO and promises download speeds ranging from 600 kbps to 1.4 Mbps. There’s been some debate on what constitutes 3G. Broadly speaking, 3G is defined not by the underlying technology, but by its speed: up to 2 Mbps. Verizon and Sprint’s 3G systems are referred to as EVDO, while AT&T and T-Mobile use HSDPA. A further level, known as HSDPA+ or Turbo 3G, can support download speeds of up to 14 Mbps.
